JCM CYBUG Scarab 3 Kit
JCM CYBUG Scarab artificial life form kit.
The CYBUG KIT is designed to behave and appear insect-like, and has full obstacle avoidance and reversing motors.
The robo-organism is nocturnal ( most active at night ) and can be configured to be photo-tropic ( light seeking ) or photo-phobic ( light avoiding ). A quick adjustment of the potentiometer causes the CYBUG to behave aggressively as a predator, or timid and slow moving like a herbivore. No two CYBUG are exactly the same and you will come to recognize the unique characteristics of each!
The CYBUG's behavior can be enhances by adding on the Higher Brain Function daughter-boards: The HUNGER ( HBF-1 ) and PREDATOR (HBF-2).
Instruction manual discusses operation of CYBUG and all components used at a novice level.
( Kit requires soldering iron and basic handtools. 3 hours estimated completion time.)

Comes with and excellent manual detailing construction techniques and theory of operation.
Out of the box, it is a great minisumo robot, but may be also used as a competition line follower, soccer bot, or custom programmed to do whatever you like! It is immensely upgradeable and expandable.

The new SolarFly 2 is the direct descendant of the popular Solarfly, this greatly improved kit is an easier to build, more sensitive, more functional artificial lifeform with the ability to switch between solar mode ( chloroplast solar engine ) and battery mode ( 9V battery under circuit board ).
In battery mode, the SolarFly is a very fast and frantic light seeking photovore and is very photosensitive
You can replace the on-board 4700uF capacitor with a 1 Farad supercap for a solar powered phototropic speeder for even cooler action!
